Our Programs
Therapeutic riding is at the heart of Rainbow Riders. This program is designed to improve physical strength, balance, and coordination. Riders engage in structured activities on horseback, which can have profound therapeutic effects. Benefits include improved muscle tone, enhanced posture, and increased flexibility. Moreover, the rhythmic motion of horseback riding has been shown to have a calming effect on the nervous system, making it particularly beneficial for individuals with sensory processing disorders.
Unmounted Lessons Participants are ages 4 and up, with a physical, cognitive, or emotional disability or diagnosis. These lessons are weekly. These sessions focus on building trust with the equine partner as well as learning communication and unconditional love that the horse provides, while assisting the participant to build self-esteem as well as resilience.
Our Group Visits program offers one-time, customizable experiences for groups of individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities. These visits are designed for participants interested in exploring horsemanship and unmounted equine-assisted activities in a safe, supportive, and joyful farm environment. Each session is tailored to meet the unique needs, interests, and abilities of the group. Activities may include grooming, horse-led canvas painting, leading exercises, and other hands-on experiences that build confidence, foster connection, and provide meaningful interaction with our herd.
Flexible in both scheduling and pricing, these visits are a wonderful opportunity for schools, camps, day programs, or other organizations to engage in experiential learning, social-emotional growth, and pure fun—all while discovering the healing power of horses.
